Google Rolls Out Google Shopper App

the search giant released its free Google Shopper app. It is designed for iPhone users. Last year the app was rolled out for the Android platform. Google Shopper is a mobile search engine for products that allows you to compared prices of products as well as read reviews.  You are provided with several options to search for products. In order to find a particular product, you have to type the product’s name in the search field. You are also able to speak the product’s name or capture its photo or barcode.  Google Shopper offers a list of stores that sell a particular product along with its price.  When you tap on a particular store, you will get product detail. Moreover, one can check customer reviews as well as bounce between a list of online merchants as well as local retailer, who sell the item.  The app has a history list, which means you can always view any search which was made in past. Moreover, it is possible to mark products as your favorites and they will be available in an easily accessible category. There is also an opportunity to share details of any products with your friends via Twitter, Facebook as well as Google Reader.  The app is compatible with the fourth generation iPod Touch as well as iPhone. Note that it requires iOS 4.0.  Google Shopper joins a big list of mobile apps that offer names of retailers, prices as well as other details on a number of products.  Similar app was released by Amazon, it is known as Price Check. With the help of this app users are able to find products by barcodes, voice as well as text. There is another app, which is known as Scandit. It can help track down products by means of scanned barcodes. With eBay one can search for products by barcodes.
